A – Tewkesbury Athletic Club

‘Tewkesbury and District’s very own running club’, a group organised by running and jogging fans for training and races in and around Tewkesbury. The club accepts members from 17 to 75 years, and has variable paces for people of different styles.

They have 3 runs a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with different classes and styles, and the main club run is on Wednesday. There’s also option for some strong Triathlon and ultra-distance runs if you’re feeling brave!

They recommend coming along once or twice to try the club, and then you can join to be a regular member. For more information on the types of sessions, membership, or for general interest, you can visit their website at http://www.tewkesburyac.co.uk.

B – Tewkesbury Tigers

Affiliated with the senior Tewkesbury Rugby Club, the Tewkesbury Tigers run teams in all age groups, from the under 7’s to the under 17’s. All players are welcome, with matches held on Sundays throughout the season, with some training sessions for different age groups held mid-week for practice.

If you’re interested in finding out more, you can visit the Tigers website at http://www.tewkesburytigers.co.uk.

C – Tewkesbury Cricket Club

Tewkesbury Cricket Club is home to a number of Saturday and Sunday teams. There are teams for all ages, for Under 11s, Under 16s, and above. The Club plays in several competitive leagues in the Gloucestershire Region, as well as regular friendly and touring matches throughout the season.

If you’re interested in joining the adult or junior section, you can visit their website to find more information on membership fees, matches, and how to join. Visit www.tewkesbury.play-cricket.com for more details.

D – Tewkesbury Youth Centre

Tewkesbury’s Youth Centre has a range of facilities and groups for young people, disabled children and their carers. Facilities include art & craft areas, pool tables and a 5-a-side football pitch.

The Youth Centre runs several different sessions Monday to Thursday each week, and it’s 50p per session.

If you’d like to find out more about the centre, you can contact Jeremy on 01684 292745 for more information on activities and how to get involved.

E – Priors Park Neighbourhood Project

Located in the heart of Priors Park, the Neighbourhood Project is a place that offers residents to visit for help on matters, as well as a central point for clubs and activities.

The Project hosts a drop-in coffee morning called the Optimist’s, a group for people over 50 to meet up for a coffee or tea and a chance to chat. They also organise activities for members to go on trips and outings around the local area. The Group meets up Monday mornings between 9:30am and 11:30am at the Priority One Shop, 105 Queens Road for people to drop in. If you’d like more info, you can email ppnp@freenet.co.uk or ring Carol on 01684 290069.

There’s also a gardening club that runs out of the Project, held in the ground’s very own Community Garden. They offer the chance for families and groups to adopt a plot of ground to prepare and grow their own fresh fruit and vegetables. If you’re not quite green-fingered yet, they hold workshops and advice on all gardening matters. For more information on the gardening club, please email ppnp@freenet.co.uk or ring 01684 290069.
