Count Me In! announces two-day FREE family festival
The Count Me In! Festival – the highlight of the CMI events calendar for 2010 - will take place at The Vineyards in Tewkesbury on May 30th and 31st.
The extensive, FREE, family event will be two jam-packed days full of activities and events to demonstrate how being healthy and embracing sport and activity can bring enjoyment to all the family!
The event, which is aimed at residents from across the Tewkesbury borough, will include dance workshops, drawing with bikes, crazy bikes, treasure hunts, kids' races, Tai Chi, face painting, cheerleading, a 50-mile guided bike ride, jogging sessions, bike coding, Nordic walking, pedal-powered scalextric, a Viking arena, rugby and squash demonstrations. There will also be designated quiet areas where people can sit back, relax and take in the atmosphere.
Tewkesbury's Count Me In! Festival will be held at the same location as the town's popular Food and Drink Festival, and will also incorporate the recently opened CMI adiZone.
Of the Festival, Emma Shibli, CMI Transport Planner for Walking and Cycling at Gloucesteshire County Council said: “We are delighted to be holding the two-day festival in the beautiful green space on the Vineyards. Everyone can come along and have a go at the activities on offer, or simply relax, bring a picnic and soak up the atmosphere. This is a fantastic opportunity for a free day out for all of the family, so I urge all Tewkesbury borough residents to put the date in their diary now, and not miss out!”
The Festival village will be open on both days between 10am and 5pm. More information about the CMI Festival will be posted on the website and via our email newsletter – please register at www.countmeintewkesbury.com.
