Saddle up with Count Me In!
This is your chance to get in the saddle for a series of Count Me In! cycle events which will not only help you to lead a healthier lifestyle, but it will also cut carbon emissions across the town.
During National Bike Week (June 13 -21) three cycle events will be held in Tewkesbury to show you how easy and cost effective it can be riding to work instead of driving.
The first of the Count Me In! events is being organised with Cheltenham and Tewkesbury Cycle Campaign and will target the many thousands of people who work at the Basepoint Business Centre. On the lunchtime of June 10, staff members from the businesses can attend a seminar at the Business Centre which will inform them about routes, cycle maintenance and safe cycling, in preparation for the Cycle to Work day on June 17.
The Count Me In! Cycle to Work day will see thousands of car drivers who work at the Business Centre, ditch four wheels in favour of two. You will get to enjoy the fresh air and exercise en route to work, as well as that, you will also receive a special Bikers’ Breakfast on arrival on 17 June! More information can be found on the Bike Week website.
If you don’t work at the Business Centre, but are keen to find out more about the benefits and feasibility of cycling to work, you can come along to our public information event at the Town Hall, Tewkesbury on Saturday June 13.
The all-day drop-in event will be supported by Cheltenham and Tewkesbury Cycle Campaign and will provide you with information about cycling to work, routes, safety information and more. There will also be the chance for you to enter the national Bike Week competition to win a family Center Parcs holiday.
