Thousands turn out for Count Me In! Festival in Tewkesbury

Tewkesbury residents flocked in their thousands to the Count Me In! Festival this Bank Holiday weekend to take part in a whole host of fun activities.

Residents old and young turned out at the FREE Festival for two days packed full of activities and events designed to show families how to live healthier, more active lives.

The event included dance workshops, drawing with bikes, crazy bikes, treasure hunts, Tai Chi, face painting, a 50-mile guided bike ride, jogging sessions, bike coding, Nordic walking, pedal-powered scalextric, a Viking arena, rugby and squash demonstrations.

Julie Wood, Count Me In! Project Sponsor, said: “We are absolutely delighted that so many local people turned out to make the most of the Festival. Everybody was happy to try out all of the activities and events – from crazy bikes to street dance workshops – it was a fabulous weekend which was thoroughly enjoyed by people of all ages.”

The CMI Festival was part of the Count Me In! Programme - a Government-funded three-year initiative to encourage families in Tewkesbury town through events, activities and support, to live healthier and more active lives.
